Founded in 1997 and acquired by G.S. Dunn in February 2018, Nutri-Pea produces pea proteins, starches and fibers. These proteins are generally used for protein bars, bread and cereals. Located in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, their commercial manufacturing facility needed to replace their conventional fire alarm system to accommodate their recent expansion. Maple Armor’s addressable fire alarm system proved to be the best solution for them.
The fire alarm system now includes FW511 smoke detectors, FW521 heat detectors, FW721 manual stations, FW962 horns/strobes as well as FW982 strobes from Maple Armor.
Given the building type, certain areas of the plant required weather-resistant horns/strobes and hand stations. Maple Armor offered several options to meet the customer's needs. In addition, the integration of the FW811 input module was also necessary in order to integrate the required explosion-proof horns/strobes and manual stations.
Thanks to the expertise of our partner SI Alarms, the installation, which began in June 2019 and was completed in August 2019, was successfully completed.
