Maple Armor is a growing, manufacturing, forward-thinking company in search of a full-time/permanent Marketing Coordinator. This is a salaried position located at its head office in Brossard, Qc.

As Marketing Coordinator, you will be the lead for all that is marketing at Maple Armor and its client/partner base. Under the supervision of our Marketing Director, you will work on a wide variety of projects/events as well as assist in content creation for all assets including website, social media, brochures, training power points/webinars/lunch and learn, Mail Chimp campaigns, etc. and more.

We are looking for someone who can translate business and marketing objectives into great content that is clear, compelling, visually exciting, and engaging for a variety of marketing initiatives.

  • You will be an integral part of our Marketing team at Maple Armor lead by our Marketing Director.
  • The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for project management and the coordination and execution of various marketing activities for the company. This includes, but isn’t limited too, marketing event/conference coordination, email marketing, website maintenance, social media monitoring and content posting.
  • We will rely on you to collaborate with colleagues and clients/partners, brainstorm concepts, and effectively action on all initiatives we put forward.
  • Strong organizational skills are a must: we sometimes deal with last-minute requests – so the ability to manage your work effectively, juggling multiple projects and varying deadlines is key to this position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interact proactively to assess the needs of the company
  • Coordinate with suppliers for production of various marketing materials/assets
  • Act as coordinator for projects such as Web site management, social media, events/conferences, E-commerce, etc.
  • Assist and coordinate with our graphic designer in the production of visual materials and media used by the company and its clients/partners.
  • Assist and coordinate with our graphic designer concepts, graphics and layouts for our corporate website, social media channels, webinars, lunch and learn sessions, events, sales enablement material, and visuals used in all marketing activities of the company or its clients.
  • Create, edit and optimize content for all material concerning advertising, branding, and marketing.
  • Maintain and organize resources and reference files.
  • Attend weekly meetings and liaise with company clients/partners/colleagues when needed.
  • Assist with on-going marketing and advertising campaigns/plans.
  • Support the development of marketing projects and online marketing strategies
  • Execute on marketing plans, campaigns, and strategies in line with set budget.
  • Provide ideas and recommendations to contribute to the optimization of marketing strategies.

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • College or University degree is an asset OR acceptable/demonstrated experience
  • Marketing experience /knowledge is a must
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar position
  • Fluently Bilingual is a must. French/English – Written/Oral
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite 365
  • Experience monitoring/coordinating content on social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and deliver projects on time in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Strong relationship building skills using tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision and direction, as well as being a team player!

Overview

We are looking for an experienced technician who has worked with fire alarm systems for several years.

  • Perform Rack-up, Programming, Verification and Inspection of fire alarm systems, access control and intercom systems, along with other fire protection equipment
  • Perform inspections and service on Maple Armor and non Maple Armor product
  • Complete and return inspection reports in a timely manner
  • Provide technical support to customers as needed
  • Provide operational training to end-users
  • Ensure our customers and end-users have a positive experience working with Maple Armor
  • Read and understand engineered drawings, specifications, programs, schematics, installation manuals, and service manuals

Requirements and Skills

  • Technicians shall have 3-5 years of experience as a Service Technician within the Fire Alarm industry
  • Electronics diploma or equivalent from accredited college/university or documented and demonstrated trade qualification
  • Technicians shall have Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) Registration or comparable qualification
  • Fluent in English and French (verbal and written).
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel is an asset
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 70lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Possess a valid and clean motor vehicle license (Class G)

We are looking for a Firmware Architect with a background in software development for products, design and code review, devices/system interaction and troubleshooting. The Firmware Architect will be responsible for application design and development for fire alarm control panels and will be involved in all aspects of the system software development process (concept, design, reviews, coding, and validation).

Responsibilities:

  • Define and support the design and development of embedded firmware, PC, and Web-based applications for the Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Implement and adhere to software development methodologies and continuous integration as well as implement and maintain software versioning and revision control.
  • Set quantifiable objectives that encapsulate quality attributes of applications and products.
  • Identify, design, and develop software monitoring test tools for fire alarm panels.
  • Own and drive the execution end to end and adhere to strict schedule.
  • Keep abreast of industry changes in software engineering technologies, processes, and disciplines.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field is required (Master’s degree in these disciplines is an asset)
  • 8+ years experience in Software and Embedded Firmware development (previous experience in fire safety industry an asset)
  • Strong in Embedded C/C++/C#, object-oriented software development and assembly language.
  • Experience on RTOS and/or non-RTOS based system designs.
  • Experience on 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers.
  • Must have experience with embedded software development tools, emulators and JTAG; with model-based design tools such as HPQC andUML; and with software version control and defect tracking software (wireless technologies experience is an asset).
  • Development experience with serial communications including RS485, RS232, USB and CAN.
  • Able to translate and implement design specifications in system designs as well as capacity to participate in design and code reviews.

The Validation Engineer will be responsible for functional and performance validation and verification of our fire alarm products – new product Development and/or Sustenance products. They will also be responsible for developing test cases based on product design specifications, creating and executing test plans, and report result as per our standard policy and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the validation and verification testing for the fire alarm systems and peripheral devices.
  • Write and execute test cases that conform to the technical and functional specifications for Firmware and Software applications.
  • Contribute to test planning and test case reviews as well as maintain test and defect management tools to document and track product defects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive set of test cases for fire alarm systems domain products and enhancements while adhering to the Automation Framework for Fire/Control Systems
  • Own and drive the execution end to end by learning and implemented appropriate automation technologies to meet the short and long-term goals of the company as well as contribute new ideas for product and process improvements.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Control, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field is required (Master’s degree in these disciplines an asset).
  • At least 5 years of product validation experience (previous experience in fire safety industry with UL/ULC norms knowledge an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of HP ALM QC and other test management tools and basic knowledge of requirement tools DOORS/Integrity
  • Good understanding of SDLC bug life cycle and any programming languages (C/C++/C#) and automation tools and basic understanding of embedded concepts and testing experience in communication protocols.
  • Hands on experience in quality assurance and control activities such as test planning, preparation, execution and reporting results.
  • Self-motivated individual, capable of planning and achieving goals with minimal supervision with a team player mentality and a strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement.
